The MCCL operates a player registration requirement for all First Team games irrespective of the division.  This requires that all players taking part in MCCL First team games be registered with the league prior to taking part in any game.  The MCCL operates a zero tolerance policy, failure to comply with registration requirements, will bring an automatic deduction of league points for each occasion.

The requirements of the MCCL registration scheme is to allow the MCCL to operate it's own league regulations for player eligibility.

   MCCL Registration Categories

Resident Player A player who qualifies as 'resident' under the MCCL constitution - check MCCL Flowchart.
Non-Resident Player A player who does not qualify as 'resident' under the MCCL constitution - check MCCL Flowchart.

Premier Division Clubs only - ECB Registration has three categories of player, as well as a fourth pseudo category (which is relevant for other ECB competitions):

   ECB Registration Categories

Category 1 English qualified player who does not have a current county contract.
Category 2 Contracted English qualified player, who holds a contract to play cricket for a first class county in the current season.
Category 3 Non-English qualified player - any player who is not qualified for England under current ECB Regulations.

Category 3

Exempt

Non-English qualified player - any player who is not qualified for England under current ECB Regulations, but who does qualify for 'Exempt Status' under ECB definition with reference to recreational cricket (see ECB flowchart).

It should be noted that the ECB definitions are purely for compliance with the current ECB player registration requirements, and as such have NO actual bearing on player eligibility for MCCL games, just other competitions played under the auspices of the ECB.

MCCL Eligibility is determined with reference to the MCCL constitution (see MCCL flowchart)
